Slowly up and forward, never back

- Founder Johan Helland

Furniture for the elderly since 1947
Our story begins in Stordal, a small village in Sunnmøre, in 1947. The Helland family starts designing and manufacturing furniture to meet the demand in the post-war period. Helland Armchair Factory sees the light of day. In the late 1960s, Helland enters the public market.

Founder Johan Helland's philosophy was "Slowly up and forward, never back down". We have taken this with us and it is reflected in the development of our furniture. From the beginning, we have thought sustainably and created durable and well-thought-out furniture. With form-fitting design, flexible solutions and high quality, we have built a strong position in the market. We believe that furniture that is adapted to your life situation and age also gives you a better quality of life and health. Therefore, collaboration with professionals and skilled product designers is the core of the development of our furniture.

The body changes throughout life, but especially as you get older, the experience of sitting and resting is important for well-being and well-being, whether at home or in a health institution. Good elderly policy is about how to best manage everyday life at home or in an institution.
