Helland Møbler AS is strategically targeting the maritime sector and the hotel market

Helland Møbler AS is now implementing a strategic restructuring to strengthen the company's robustness and ensure further growth. After several decades as a leading supplier to the healthcare sector and public environments, reduced public investments have made it necessary to diversify the business.

The maritime sector and the hotel market stand out as attractive areas of focus, with strong growth in, among other things, cruise, offshore, offshore wind, work ships and hotel projects. The markets have strict requirements for documentation, environment and safety. Helland has strong competitive advantages through solid expertise in certifications and approvals, and implements standards such as Crib 5 and Crib 7 , IMO regulations and steering wheel marking as an integrated part of the deliveries where this is required.

As part of the restructuring, Helland is establishing itself as a supplier of permanent furnishings and furniture for maritime environments and hotels. The focus includes targeted competence building, development of complete interior concepts adapted to relevant fire and safety requirements, as well as clear market positioning towards shipyards, shipping companies, ship designers and hotel developers.

The goal is to reduce dependence on public markets, increase the export share and ensure better capacity utilization in production. The restructuring also lays the foundation for new expertise, further value creation and a long-term continuation of the Norwegian furniture industry in a sustainable and international direction.
